Christopher Adam Daughtry was born on December 26, 1979 and was a fourth finalist on that famous TV show, American Idol in the fifth season. He was eliminated from the show on May 10, 2006. RCA Records contacted Chris Daughtry and decided to give him a record deal after his elimination from the show. Shortly there was a band formed called Daughtry and they released their debut album, this album sold more than one million copies in just 5 weeks of being released. This made it the fastest selling debut album in history for the rock genre. Shortly after that the album reached the number one spot on the Billboard charts.
