In 1995 a band came together in Canada who became such a hit all around the world with just four simple guys. This band is called Nickelback and it consist of Chad Kroeger, Mike Kroeger, Ryan Peake, and Daniel Adair. Nickelback has sold about 30 million records all over the world and is known to be one of the most successful Canadian bands. The name of the band came from when Mike Kroeger worked at Starbucks and he would often give back in change nickels, so he always said “Here’s your nickel back.” When the band first came together they were signed with EMI in Canada as well as Roadrunner Records for the rest of the world, but in July of 2008 they signed with Live Nation for three of their albums and tours and maybe a fourth.

Nickelback’s very first record was an EP called Hesher and it was released in 1996. Then came their first officially full length album called Curb and both records included their first single called “Fly”. Their next album was released in 1998 and was called The State and it had two singles called “Leader of Men” and “Breathe”. These singles were pretty successful and won the album a gold certificate in both Canada and the United States then a Platinum in 2008. The album that really took them into the stream of success is the album they released in 2001 called Silver Side Up. This album included the famous single “How You Remind Me” which peaked at the number one spot on the American and Canadian charts both at the same exact time. Nickelback has always said “We never take anything for granted” they work for everything they have and deserve it.

During the year of 2002, Chad Kroeger partnered with Josey Scott and Gaige Corvo who both played lead guitar for the song “Hero” from the movie Spiderman. This song also included Tyler Connolly, Mike Kroeger, Matt Cameron, and Jeremy Taggart. 2003 Nickelback released yet another album called The Long Road. The famous single on this album was called “Someday” and it sold over five million copies worldwide. Also in 2003 the band released two other singles that hit the top of the charts called “Feelin Way Too Damn Good” and “Figured You Out”. The band was on a roll with all of their albums and hit singles they just could not believe it. They released another album called All the Right Reasons which had many hit singles on it that were successful called “Photograph”, “Savin Me”, “Far Away”, “If Everyone Cared”, and “Rockstar”. There were about eleven million copies of this album sold which yet again made the band very proud.

The last album that Nickelback has released so far is called Dark Horse which also had some great singles on it and kept the band smiling.
