It was in Southern California where the music genre called “gangsta rap” was born which coincidently also happens to be where Calvin “Snoop Dogg” Broadus was also born. Snoop Dogg is the Creative Chairman of EMI’s new Priority Records. He is in charge of overseeing the catalog that is filled with rap anthems from rappers such as NWA, Eazy E, Master P, Ice Cube and many others who all came from the same streets in Southern California. This position for Snoop Dogg put him in the perfect position to start off with his tenth new solo called Malice N Wonderland. This combination of Malice and Wonder puts a spin in it and makes for an interesting listen. Snoop said that he just had a whole lot of malice in his heart and he just wanted to focus on making some hardcore gangsta rap. Snoop knew that he really wanted to make some good rap music that not only felt good to him but the ladies as well. He is always working on something whether is producing new young rappers or starring in a television show.

Snoop Dogg was born on October 20, 1971 with the real name Cordozar Calvin Broadus. He was nominated for a Grammy Award as American rapper, record producer, and actor. Snoop was first discovered by Dr. Dre, Snoop was in many of Dr. Dre’s tracks off his solo debut called The Chronic. Snoop then released his own album called Doggystyle which was revealed in 1993 after he signed with Death Row Records. Doggystyle had many singles released such as “what’s My Name” and “Gin & Juice” and the album went quadruple platinum. In the year of 1996 Snoop Dogg released his second album called The Doggfather which also was his last release from Death Row Records. He then signed with No Limit Records and debuted three more albums from the years of 1998 to 2001. But in 2002 Snoop Dogg signed with Priority/Capitol/EMI Records and he then released Paid tha Cost to Be da Boss. In 2004 Snoop then signed with Geffen Records for another three albums. Snoop has a cousin named Nate Dogg who he tag teamed with to form the group called 213 along with emcee Warren G to make another album in 2004.

Along with all of Snoop Dogg’s great accomplishments with his music and albums, he also starred in movies and hosted TV shows such as Doggy Fizzle Televizzle, Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood, and Dogg After Dark. Malice n Wonderland is Snoop Dogg’s tenth studio album and it was released on December 8, 2009, still signed with EMI Records which he also is the chairman of since September of 2009. Snoop Dogg is married to his high school sweetheart, Shante Taylor and the is the head coach of his sons youth football team as well as the John A. Rowland High School team. Snoop Dogg has always been a passionate sports fan especially football. He actually once said that he wanted to be the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also said that he has a great deal of passion for the New England Patriots and bet that they would win Superbowl XXXIX against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Snoop is definitely a family man, he loves his family very much and gives all that he can.
