The Tennessee Titans football team is located in Nashville, Tennessee and is in the category of the professional American football teams. The home field for the Tennessee Titans is the LP Field also located in Nashville. The football team actually practices at the Baptist Sports Park at the MetroCenter complex, this field is 31 acres and is just a short 5 miles north of the downtown area in Nashville, Tennessee. The Tennessee Titans were first known as the Houston Oilers and they first started the team in the 1960’s as members of the American Football League (AFL). The Houston Oilers won the very first two AFL Championships before coming together with the NFL. It was not until 1997 when the Houston Oilers moved to Tennessee from Texas and started playing in Memphis short term. The first two seasons in Tennessee they were called the Tennessee Oilers before it changed to the Titans in 1999. The Tennessee Titans had a tragic loss in 2009, they lost one of their greatest players Steve McNair who was tragically killed on July 4, 2009. McNair also opened a restaurant called Gridiron 9 in Nashville where he will always be remembered. The Tennessee Titans Foundation began in 1999 with a 500,000 dollars from the owner and founder of the team, Bud Adams, Jr. and his wife Nancy. There is also the K.S.
