The Tennessee Titans had a tragic loss in 2009, they lost one of their greatest players Steve McNair who was tragically killed on July 4, 2009. All of Steve McNair’s team members, family, and friends were very sadden by this tragedy. Steve was said to be a very helpful person and helped out his community any chance he got. McNair also opened a restaurant called Gridiron 9 in Nashville where he will always be remembered. Steve McNair led the Tennessee Titans famous drive that was just a yard short of making the game go into overtime during the Super Bowl in 2000. He even had his very own foundation called the Steve McNair Foundation. In fact the whole Tennessee Titans football team is actively involved with their community and helping others. They are known to be philanthropic leaders for their community with player appearances, Titan Tuesdays, Hospital Visits, Metro Middle School Visits, Titans Hometown huddle, Titans Caravan: Held Annually each Spring, Titans Charity Golf Classic, Titans Community Quarterback Award, and Business and Corporate Appearances.
The Tennessee Titans Foundation began in 1999 with a 500,000 dollars from the owner and founder of the team, Bud Adams, Jr. and his wife Nancy. There is also the K.S. Adams Jr. Foundation which is also hosted by the owner of the Tennessee Titans. Then of course the Tennessee Titans are very grateful for all of their dedicated fans of all ages.
